I received these fantastic ATCs in a 1 to 1 swap with Heather Bloom. Such wonderful detail and I love the house shape. Aren't they just the cutest thing! Thanks so much Heather for a wonderful swap!
Aren't these ATCs amazing? I received these in a 1 to 1 swap with Laura Carson. I am always in awe of her work...such detail! Thanks so much Laura for swapping with me!
I got a fun surprise today from my friend Alice Hyde. She made these ATCs for me on Halloween. It's almost the middle of November and I'm still getting Halloween happy mail! Aren't I lucky! Thanks so much Alice, I love them! ((HUGS))
It's been a week since Jack came to life. Isn't a rotting Halloween Jack-o-lantern just the saddest site? Halloween is truly over for the year. He's the last thing to go at our house.
Although I will post occassionally from now until April, my Halloween Blog is going into temporary hibernation for awhile.
Never fear! Halloween is in my heart all year long and I will start posting to this blog regularly again in April of 2009.
From top left: Kris Dickinson, Muriel Fulgione, Carrie Rees; Phyllis Terrell, Laura Carson, Heather Bloom. Such wonderful ATCs ladies....thanks for a great swap!
From Top Left: Kris Dickinson, Alice Hyde, Carrie Rees; Julia Ziemann, Pam Sparks, Beth Warner; William Wratten, Jan Larson, Donna Hansen. Thanks for a fabulous swap everyone!
Here are a couple of pictures of my quest room with my Log Cabin Halloween Quilt on the bed. If you visit in October, you get to sleep under this quilt. This is one of 5 Halloween quilts that I have made.
Here are a few pictures from our trip to New England last week. It was absolutely spectacular. This was my first trip to see the trees and it won't be my last. We went to 6 different states and most were at peak color.
This week's theme was open and since it's just a few days until Halloween I thought I'd do something spooky. You can see all the wonderful submissions this week at: http://wednesdaystamper.wordpress.com/
The theme this week was Goth Style....I chose to interpret it as a Goth(ic) Cemetery. You can see all the great creations this week at: http://wednesdaystamper.wordpress.com/
Please check out the above link to a flickr photostream by Winona Cookie. She does the most amazing Halloween and Gothic pieces. She also had an Etsy store where you can buy some of these treasures! I hope you will visit her site and ~Enjoy!~
This week the theme is "The Spooky Season". Since the Circus comes to Denver every October and most people think clowns are pretty creepy, I chose this group of vintage clowns for my submission. Please check out all the wonderful, spooky submissions at: http://thisthursday.wordpress.com/
My lighted case with antiques and collectibles....it changes seasonally! My 6" lighted Halloween Tree with my collection of Radko ornaments. This doesn't look very big but the opening is 10' x 3' x 2'. It's the perfect spot to hold my Dept. 56 Halloween Village. This twin-sized Halloween quilt was designed and pieced by me. Cool lampshade, eh? I found this at Dragonfly Design Studios
Welcome to Kris Dickinson's "A Nostalgic Halloween"
Thank you for visiting A Nostalgic Halloween. I have loved this holiday since I was a small child. I love the decorations, costumes, trick-or-treating, parties and all the joys of this wonderful, fall holiday. I've created this blog to showcase my original art, decorations, favorite sites and information about Halloween (nothing too scary, though!) I also post Halloween Ephemera to share. I hope you enjoy a trip back through yesteryear....Happy Haunting!
