Really cool image! The technique's actually not very difficult. It involves a long shutter time. The person who plays the ghost stands there for a couple of seconds and then quickly steps or runs away. That way the last few seconds the background is captured instead of the person, thus creating the transparent ghostly look.
I did something similar in this self-portrait: http://www.flickr.com/photos/admortemfestinamus/474488297/ There's no photoshop involved. Mystery solved ;-)
